Sustainability is always high on Swedrive’s agenda. Our business consists of developing, manufacturing and marketing electromechanical transmission solutions with a high technical level that meet the customers’ specific needs. Our electrical mechanical origin means that the technology we provide to the market is sustainable in itself, as it is an alternative to more resource- and environment-demanding technologies such as hydraulics and pneumatics.
In addition to offer a sustainable technology, we constantly strive to minimize our own environmental footprint, through a wide range of sustainability initiatives that range from product design and construction to minimizing waste materials and sorting residual products. Advantages of converting hydraulics & pneumatics to electromechanics
Replacing hydraulics or pneumatics with electromechanics can bring a number of benefits, both environmental and economic. Thanks to self-locking or a brake, electromechanics has the advantage of only consuming energy during movement. In addition, electromechanics in most cases offers better efficiency compared to both hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The repeatability and controllability of electromechanics also improve efficiency.
From an environmental perspective, there is also the advantage that electromechanics reduces the risk of spills of environmentally hazardous oils, as no pressurized media are used. Converting from hydraulics to electromechanics is an effective way to reduce the risk of emissions into the environment. Even in sensitive production environments, hydraulics and pneumatics are replaced with electromechanics to reduce the risk of contamination.
