Drive solutions for defence applications

The defence segment is an important part of our business and today accounts for a significant share of our sales. It is an area with high technical requirements and long development cycles, where every project requires careful planning, verification and documentation. Through our experience and close cooperation with customers in the segment, we create customized solutions that meet the requirements of critical and security-classified environments.

Defence applications

We supply complete system solutions to the Nordic defence industry, mainly in the form of custom screw jack systems. These are used in launch ramps, where interconnected screw jacks enable controlled and synchronized movement under high demands on precision and reliability.

The products have been developed over many years and demand has increased markedly. In parallel, we are working on new projects to broaden the offering, for example with worm gears and electromechanical cylinders. These applications are often complex and require extensive testing and verification, which means long development cycles before series deliveries can be established.

Requirements for quality, testing and traceability

The defence industry places very high demands on suppliers, both in terms of technical performance and documentation. Our solutions are developed with full traceability of materials and constituent components, which is a basic requirement in the segment.

The products undergo extensive testing, both in-house and at external test institutes, to ensure that they meet the applicable requirements and standards. This ensures that the solutions withstand stresses such as vibration, load and operation under varying and demanding conditions.

The interface between our systems and the customer’s platforms is in many cases well established and proven over time. New projects, however, place higher demands on clear requirement specifications and close cooperation to ensure compatibility with existing control systems and military interfaces. The segment is one of the most resource-intensive we work in, which places high demands on our in-house expertise, quality assurance and project management.

Custom screw jack systems to a high standard

Each solution is developed based on the specific requirements of the application, where function, safety and integration into existing systems are central. The development process is characterized by a structured way of working with clear requirements, verification and documentation, which ensures that the end product meets both technical and regulatory requirements.

For this segment, and especially for larger customers, we take on extensive responsibility even after delivery. On several occasions we have had our own staff on site at the customer for service work such as replacement of wear parts, updates, technical measures and support.

We also carry out life cycle tests in our development and test centre to determine expected service life and ensure that the products meet the customer’s requirements over time. This type of long-term commitment is a natural part of cooperation in the defence segment and helps us to continuously develop both our solutions and our expertise.
